The Gentleman’s Game Cup Series rolls along, with the race as tight as ever. Four of five competitors are within two points of one another for first place, and Swindaman3 moved into a first-place tie with Diamondhoggers for first place last evening.

Yearly Standings:
Diamondhoggers – 26 points
Swindaman3 – 26 Points
DStars45 – 25 points
t3bird04 – 24 Points
Jsquad34 – 20 Points

Last night’s Gentleman’s Game MVP was clearly Derek Norris. In an unlikely turn of events, Norris hit the walk-off game-winning Gents Game stealing Grand Slam with two outs in the bottom of the ninth in San Diego last night.

This allowed for a narrow escape for the first place prize for DStars45, leap-frogging Swindaman3 and t3bird04 with one swing of the bat.

Here’s a copy of DStars45’s winning recipe from last night:

Personally, I love the Adam Lind play. I had a feeling on Lind last night in his home park against that sterling Rubby gemstone of a pitcher; and yet I paid the maximum amount of dollars for a guy who has always been a slug to me in Prince Fielder. This is why I have squandered my lead in the Gentleman’s Cup circuit. Well, that and because I used Miguel Gonzalez (pitched well) and Stephen Strasburg (left last night’s game in Cincinnati after five batters).

So tune in next week, for the saga of the Gentleman’s Game Cup. Will someone jump out to a first place lead that they’ll hold through the summer? Will JSSquad34 go back to the Miguel Cabrera well? Will Diamondhoggers once again use two pitchers whom he loathes?

You must turn in next week to find out.
