Pirates’ Josh Harrison was probably good in backyard games of ‘Pickle’

We’ve always really liked something about Josh Harrison of the Pittsburgh Pirates – we were just never really sure what that ‘something’ was. He just seemed like that kind of winning ingredient role player that every club needs, and the perfect multi-position guy who could master the role. A throwback to the pinch-hit specialist/fill-in regular guys of our youth who can just flat out ball when given the chance.

The above clip shows off some of the ability Harrison has. And it also flashes us back to our youth, hours and hours we would spend in the yard with the neighborhood fellas with two poorly walked off bases – a man with a glove at each base – and we would see how many consecutive bases a contestant could steal before getting caught in a rundown or caught stealing. Harrison was probably a tough out if he and his friends ever played that game growing up.

The game was clearly in slow motion for Harrison during this sequence, everyone else was at full-speed.
