Big Papi is a wordsmith: Says what everyone in Boston was thinking

Today the Red Sox played the Kansas City Royals the day after the second brother of the Boston Marathin bombers was captured.  There was a big celebration honoring all the first responders who aided in the capture.  In case you want to know more info, Deadspin has had excellent coverage.  During the ceremonies before the game someone gave David Ortiz a microphone  – this was his first game of the season after a DL stint – and he let the world know how he felt.  Here’s the video:

Among other words, he said,”This is our fucking city.”

Ortiz hit an RBI single to tie the game in the sixth and Daniel Nava went on to win the game with a 3 run homer.  Neil Diamond even showed up sing “Sweet Caroline” in person for the 7th inning stretch.

Great day for the city of Boston and, given the past week, we were all Boston fans today.
