One of the Neatest Traditions in Baseball Gets a New Addition

We have touched on it before–the President’s Race in Washington is one of the best traditions in baseball.

This year, there’s a new sheriff in town, and his name’s Bill. Bill Taft. Anyone expecting a blimp of a founding father had to be surprised to find a trim, cool looking rendition of our nation’s 27th president.

The racing presidents have enough popularity that they’ve even earned their own page on the Nationals official website.

Taft probably should have been unveiled long ago. He was the first president to ever throw out a first pitch at a major league ballgame in 1910 at Griffith Stadium.
