Joakim Soria close to emerging from time-out, regaining KC closer’s role

Ned Yost sure does know how to teach a pitcher a lesson.

If you follow different reports out there on the web, it’s being floated that Joakim Soria is ‘close to re-gaining his role as the Kansas City closer’.

After this write-up by Joe Posnanski, I figured the Soria would be left for dead and I immediately added Aaron Crow; thinking that the former 1st-round pick would be Kansas City’s closer for the present and foreseeable future.

So what the Hell was this whole scham for anyways? Was it so I could release Soria in one of my keeper fantasy leagues (he was a keeper of mine, figuring he was as ‘sure-thing’ as it gets and figuring he would again save 40+)? Is it so Yost can further abuse a pitching staff that has seen two young men have double digits scored upon them in a single appearance? What the Hell is this guy doing?

Since being sent to time-out and losing the closer’s role, he’s missed out on zero save opportunities and has thrown 3 scoreless, hitless innings. Has Yost really seen what he needed to see, or is he further trying to fuck-up my perfect monster that was the Kansas City Royals closer-situation?

Ned Yost is a fantasy manager’s nightmare and a cock-tease. Leave the closer alone if you’re going to handle it this was and just come out and say that Moustakas is never coming up and that you’re hitting Alex Gordon lead-off so that he can’t hit around .300, you bald dickhead.

If you have enough faith in Soria to re-instate that guy now, you never should have stripped him of the role in the first place.
