2011 is here
This is probably the one day in which baseball has absolutely no dog in the fight or skin in the game. Basketball is in full swing, and the NHL Winter Classic takes place later this evening at Heinz Field. NCAA Bowl Games are getting underway right now. It’s just not a buzzing time of year for Major League Baseball.
That said, I would like to say to all readers and guests of Diamond Hoggers that I hope that 2011 is the greatest year you’ve ever had and many healthy and happy days of fortune are in store for you and your family. It’s gotta happen for someone; right?
And if you’re wondering why I put that picture up there of pork and sauerkraut, it’s a tradition. My mother makes that dish every year on January 1st. It’s supposed to be good luck. I love to wallop some pork and sauerkraut on this day.
