MLB’s light schedule tonight had to be by design

Living in a college football town like Columbus, Ohio; it’s impossible not to get caught up in the hoopla a little bit. The start of the NCAA season is tonight. My co-workers all wore their jerseys to work today for Gods sakes (I did not). I asked to wear my Reds jersey and one of the partners shot it down.

If the Reds were on tonight, I’d probably have that game on another television. But Major League baseball goes with the light schedule, giving way to the opening of another sports season.

To me, I wish it was baseball season year round. But if for a time I have to follow another sport it would have to be football. And if I’ve got to be surrounded by the beer and circus that is college football, I’m glad that it’s the Ohio State Buckeyes.
