Giambles throws a knife in the side of Papelbon

The other night, a friend was in disbelief when I told him Jason Giambi was still in the big leagues. I told him that Giambi was with the Rockies, and he could hardly believe it. He thought Giambi had been retired for quite some time.

That friend of mine happens to be a Boston Red Sox fan, and had he been watching the game last night; he’d realize that the man we call ‘Giambles’ isn’t quite done yet.

It was Giambi’s third home run of the season and the 412th of his big league career.

Rockies skipper Jim Tracy summed it up best: “The at-bat by the Giambino, what can you say?” [Big League Stew]
