Let’s Play Twenty

This was a game with a lot of statistical anomalies. Yadier Molina got nine at-bats. There were 35 strikeouts in the first 19 innings of play. Felipe Lopez went from third base to the mound; pitched an inning, and then returned back to third which was not the position he began the game at.

Jason Bay and Jeff Francoeur combined to go 0-14 on the night.

Mike Pelfrey got the save. Kyle Lohse played left field and got an at-bat. Oliver Perez was the only Mets player on the 25 man roster who didn’t appear in the game in one fashion or another. It’s safe to say that you’ll probably never see another game like this.

A Jose Reyes sac fly in the 20th inning held up as the winning run in the longest game in Mets history.

It’s safe to say that FOX Saturday baseball definitely picked the right game this week.
