RUMOR: Yonder Alonso to be dealt for Carlos Quentin?

We’re hearing a rumor from a reliable source that the Reds are internally discussing trading the organization’s #1 overall prospect Yonder Alonso to the Chicago White Sox for Carlos Quentin and prospects.
This move is interesting to us because you’ll remember the Reds could have selected Gordon Beckham in the 2008 Amateur draft but decided on Alonso instead. Alonso’s progress is blocked at the Major League Level by Joey Votto.
Alonso is a left handed hitter and the Reds want to get stronger at the right side of the plate we’re told. We are also told that Alonso struggled to learn other positions which is a major factor in the impending deal.
Stay tuned for further details.
