Ruh-Roh Matty Ho

In case you missed it earlier tonight, Matt Holliday cost the St. Louis Cardinals dearly out in Los Angeles. And wouldn’t you know after a costly error with two down in the bottom of the 9th and the Dodgers trailing by one, they’d find a way to scratch across the tie; and then little Mark Loretta steps up to the plate (previously 0 for 15 against Ryan Franklin) and bloops a single into left field to put the Dodgers up 2-0 in the series over the team who we had pegged to represent the NL in the playoffs.

LaRusa’s teams have character. They have fight in them. They’re headed back to St. Louis. But it’s certainly not looking good.

The Cardinals won’t go down without a fight beginning Saturday in St. Louis, but history suggests that the Dodgers are going to move on to face the winner of Colorado and Philly.
