Clayton Kershaw shows first flashes of brilliance

[Box Score]

It’s exciting for a franchise to have a guy under 25 doing big things at the professional level, especially in baseball. It makes you think his perceived ceiling is higher then it probably is; but it leaves room for that possibility.

Last night, Clayton Kershaw showed Dodgers fans at Chavez Rivine a glimpse of something very special. Kershaw struck out 13 hitters against the San Francisco Giants, allowing only 1 hit and 1 earned run in 7 innings. His night was over after 105 pitches, but Kershaw could be the most dominating power lefty since (dare we say it) Randy Johnson.

Johnathan Broxton ended up picking up the victory for the Dodgers when Brian Wilson walked James Loney with the bases loaded and Manny Ramirez scored. I Love LA is now off to a 6-3 start in the NL West.
