We feel it’s our duty to tell you what kind of tear that Jay Bruce is on right now. Today in AAA Louisville (don’t worry about the score), Bruce went 3 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and a double; also 2 walks. Bruce raised his average to .366 on the season. Bruce is also hitting .611 over his last ten games.
He clearly can’t make anymore of a push to get to the big leagues. Corey Patterson of the Reds has been on a tear of his own with 7 hits in the last 3 ballgames and 2 stolen bases (oh boy) to raise his average to .232 for the season. And this is what is blocking the man who will certainly save Cincinnati baseball?
Bruce can’t get here soon enough for us.
