We find ourselves in the meat n' potatoes of Sports Purgatory

Now that the Super Bowl is over and the NFL season has concluded; we can pretend we’re interested in the NBA or NHL or we can go ahead and give into the fact that this is the best time of year to start hitting the gym, working overtime, or going to church a little more than we do the rest of the year.

Some might argue that March Madness will help; but I simply think that it’s just a pre-cursor, an appetizer for the awaiting Major League Baseball season. It’s great; but after that first weekend of basketball, you just want your full slate of MLB games on every night. If you’re a frequent reader of this blog you know exactly what I’m saying.

This is a tough time of year for a sports fan. You’ll probably be doing more household chores than you do the other 11 months of the year. It’s going to be a long, long 50 or so days. After that; we’re into the cornucopia of sports goodness.

We’ll pass the time here with some blogger interviews, some team previews. We’ll bring back the daily throwing it around posts. We’ll make fun of some players, and tell fantasy league whore stories like they’re civil war stories. We’ll do what we’ve got to do to get through this.

Diamond Hoggers is back in full swing; so get your tin ready and give your best comments. It’s that time of year.
