Throwing it around

Hi, hello, and welcome on this first monday of July. You’ll get our first ‘case of the mondays’ rant later on in the day, but for now we’re looking for the best baseball posts around the web today. Something that will inspire, intrigue, interest, something that will make you love the greatest game on the face of the earth just a bit more. A week from today is the Homerun Derby, and oh goodness isn’t that a special time to be a baseball fan and an American. Without further ado, here’s the baseball links we’ve selected to be part of our blog today:

  • Interview with Deadspin editor Will Leitch. Not a baseball read, but a nice read. (The Starting Five)
  • More on Jerry Narron’s firing as manager of the Cincinnati Reds. (Redleg Nation)
  • About the 1928 Washington Senators. (Coffeyville Whirlwind)
  • Cliff Lee was huge for the Indians in their big 3-2 win over the Devil Rays yesterday. (The Tribe Source)
  • We love the Tribe, we love the Diatribe blog, and we love the fact that the Indians entered yesterday on a roll. (The Diatribe)
  • The Bizzaro World Hall of Fame class of 1983. (One More Dying Quail)
  • There is no time table for the return of Joel Zumaya. (Babes Love Baseball)
  • Teams ranked 1-30, guess who’s dead last. Yep. (Bugs & Cranks)
